Jonathan Lemkin is the screenwriter, just as he was for Fuqua's Shooter. The Rapp books, full of intrigue, high stakes and action, have routinely appeared on The New York Times bestseller list and resulted in Flynn being a story consultant on the fifth season of 24. ![]() ![]() This was one of those rare gems that already has me clamoring for me. ![]() Brimming with intrigue, magic, and forbidden romance, I was held captive by the Mafi’s beautiful prose, textured and nuanced in a way that deepened the story’s stronghold. The essence of the forbidden romance gave a whole new level on top of the bullying and fighting between both characters. I can’t even express in words how much I love this book. ![]() Little bits and pieces are revealed so slowly that you just follow the crumb trail trying to get to the cookie end. This story has a slow burn that intensifies as it goes. There is soooo much tension between these characters and so much hate from each of them. Madoc was just fine and living his life, until she comes back into town and turns everything upside down. I even love the opening of the book where Fallon clearly digs Tate from book one wondering why she never sticks up for herself ?įallon was gone for a while, and when she returns she causes a storm. ![]() Book 2 in the Fall Away Series was even better than the first. This book pushes the limits in the best way possible. The forbidden romance and taboo lines that get blurred are so intense and so much fun. ![]() ![]() I wasn’t sure where he planned on getting a chair from, but if anyone got what he wanted, it was Aiden. “Told you.” He reached forward and tapped my elbow with his fingertips. “Has anybody thrown anything at you?”Īiden blew out a breath and gave me that look that got on my nerves. A small smile creased the corners of that ultra-serious mouth. “I’ll get one,” he muttered, tipping his head toward mine. “Okay, I’ll be right back,” I said, loosening my hold and taking a step back to find him looking down at me with the strangest expression on his face. With a squeak I hadn’t made since I was probably twelve, I threw my arms around Aiden’s arm and hugged him once more for a split second. ![]() He really was standing there in the middle of a convention in his hoodie with a backpack on. Let me grab a chair for you then,” I said, taking a step away before blinking at him. ![]() What I said though was a completely different thing. ![]() Turning his wrists, he slid his hands down until we were palm to palm. He cursed them by making them search for each other their entire lives – and soulmates came into existence. Zeus was afraid and jealous of their united power, thus splitting them into two separate individuals. ![]() In Greek mythology, as explained by Plato in The Symposium, humans were supposedly born with four legs and four arms, with a two-faced head. The concept of soulmates can be traced back to world mythologies. They’re not your second or better half, quite literally, but someone who’ll double your happiness! But more importantly, these days, soulmates are considered to be someone you can connect with instantly. The Red Thread of Fate, destiny, twin flames – there are so many concepts to replace soulmates, which are usually used in modern literature to bring the protagonists together. Julia works in an understaffed and over-full hospital in Dublin in a cramped Maternity-Fever ward full of ill expectant mothers who must be quarantined together. Shockingly serendipitous, The Pull of the Stars is set in Ireland during the 1918 flu pandemic. ![]() ![]() It drew me into its world in a way that was so riveting and unexpected. A fast-paced, stunning novel, I was unable to put down The Pull of the Stars until the early hours of the morning. Scythe is a dystopian novel set in a future version of Earth where humanity has conquered death. I picked up Scythe a few months ago at a friend’s recommendation and will forever be glad I did. One of the best books I’ve ever read is Scythe, by Neal Shusterman-high praise, given that I’ve read countless books. A copy of Scythe enjoys a luxurious existence upon a fluffy blanket, surrounded by lights. ![]() |
